We create welcoming, safe spaces where people can come together, get involved, and feel a sense of belonging. Our community houses across Gateshead are led by local residents, who plan and run projects that matter to their communities.

People can pop in for a cuppa, a chat, or support, always greeted by our trusted staff. With the help of volunteers and partners, our houses have engaged thousands, bringing people together to have fun, learn, and connect.

We provide friendly spaces, activities, and facilities that help everyone reach their potential and strengthen community life.

Edberts House

Edberts House was our first community house located in the heart of the High Lanes estate. Today, it continues to offer thriving toddler and children’s groups, regular trips, homemade food, access to educational courses, and much more.

We regularly host large events and celebrations, and our rooms are available for hire. Everyone is welcome — check out our Facebook page for the current timetable and updates.

Pattinson House

Pattinson House is based on the Old Fold and Nest Estates, and offers a wide range of activities for all ages, including bustling toddler groups, tasty homemade community lunches, and a creative and active youth club.

We care about our local environment and regularly organise litter picks and have an accessible gardening space for local people to get involved. Our rooms are also available for hire.

Larkspur House

Larkspur House is at the heart of the Beacon Lough East community and offers a wide range of activities for everyone, including craft sessions, a community allotment, youth clubs, community breakfast and much more.

Our seasonal community market features stalls run by local people, offering food, crafts, and fun. We also host drop-ins from a variety of partners, including the Police, Gateshead Council, Housing, North East Counselling Services, Citizens Advice Gateshead, and other services that benefit the community.

Highfield House

Highfield House is our newest community house, located on the Pipebridge estate in Highfield. We are developing a timetable of activities, including an ever-growing toddler group, neurodiversity friendship group, veteran’s group and supportive family activities.

We are listening to our community and building connections with local partners so we can respond to local needs and bring people together.
